Welcome to the the Konya Regional Archaeological Survey Project (KRASP) website!
KRASP is an interdisciplinary study of the Konya Plain (central Turkey). We are addressing a number of fundamental developments in this region from a landscape-oriented perspective, including the impacts of food production and water management on the ecologies of the plain, and spatially extensivie phenomena such as the onset and collapse of urbanisation and state aggregation. The chronological scope of KRASP spans from the Aceramic Neolithic to the end of the Iron Age (ca 9500–300 BC).
We are using this website to explain our approaches to the Konya Plain, and to provide a resource for the data and results of our project.
We invite you to step inside some of the archaeological landscapes of the Konya Plain through the links provided above.
